
Elevating a tattoo brand beyond the expected
Gemini is a tattoo studio built on individuality – expressive, instinctive, and intentionally outside the expected.
The aim was to create an identity that felt distinctive without relying on the clichés often associated with tattoo culture. Something with edge, but still considered.

Approach
The artist behind Gemini Studio came to me after exploring different directions for the upcoming studio opening, but felt something wasn’t landing. We held a short discovery session to define what the brand should push against and quickly realised the existing explorations mirrored the wider tattoo landscape: blackletter, traditional, and visually dated – everything that misrepresented Emily, but assumed was where she should visually play as a brand.
From there, the conversation shifted from just a studio identity, but to Emily's ambitions of launching her own aftercare line, expanding the brand beyond the physical space.
