Introducing a new standard of coffee to a small town
Strutt Bakehouse is a small, independent bakery and coffee shop in Belper built on the idea that quality should feel like part of everyday life, not a special occasion.
The challenge was to create a brand that felt elevated but familiar. Something that could introduce a more considered coffee culture to a small town, without feeling out of place, and could quickly earns its place in people’s routines.

Approach
Quality, made routine.
The strategy centred on embedding the brand into daily life, not through noise or novelty, but through consistency, quality, and ease.
The identity was designed to feel calm, grounded, and intentional. Restraint played a key role: allowing materials, space, and product to lead, rather than over-designing the experience.
Every touchpoint from signage and menus to social was considered as part of a wider system, ensuring the brand felt cohesive without becoming rigid.
